PLAYOFF OVERTIME RULES

VARSITY & Jr. VARSITY DIVISIONS

TIE-BREAKERS after regulation time.

First tie-breaker will be 10-minute sudden death.

(Varsity division, and JV Championship round will continue with a 2^nd and 3rd 10-minute period if needed)

Next tie-breaker will be a shootout with each team selecting 4 skaters per round.

Players shoot visitors first alternating teams after each shooter.

1st round all eight shooters must take their turn before a winner is declared. If both teams remained tied after this round, a second round is scheduled.

Players from the 1st round may be used in the following rounds, or substitutions may be permitted, however a player, once removed from the lineup, may not be re-entered into the shooting rotation until all players on the bench have shot at least once.

2nd round, and all following rounds, shall be a sudden-victory format in which each team has one penalty shot attempt to score. If after 4 pairs of shooter attempts the score remains tied, coaches have the discretion to re-use any or all of the current shooters in the continuing rounds.

If, after one player from each team has shot, only one team has scored, that team will be declared the winner.

Once a shoot-out has begun, goaltenders may only be substituted for only if injured.

Any player whose penalty has not expired at the end of overtime play shall not be allowed to participate in the shoot out and must remain in the penalty box.
